Wander & Flow Yoga Retreat

Wander & Flow is a yoga retreat and adventure weekend where the goal is to move the body, nourish the soul and enjoy nature. We will recharge completely with daily yoga, outdoor activities, delicious food, good company and complete relaxation.

Our yoga teacher, Sæunn, will guide us through energetic and fun yoga flows as well as deeply relaxing and nourishing yin. Her classes are open to all levels and she makes sure to offer modifications for both beginners and those more experienced.

The Accommodation

Landhótel is located in the South of Iceland, only an hours drive from Reykjavík. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature with views that stretch for miles. It also happens to be located near the major attractions of the southern region and it is therefore the perfect place for outdoor activities and relaxation.

The hotel design honours the wild Icelandic nature yet it emphasises stillness and rest. The rooms are spacious and luxurious with comfortable beds and a large ensuite. The dining room is large and bright with a gorgeous view of mountains and glaciers and the hotel chefs will prepare a delicious dinner for us every night and a breakfast buffet in the mornings.

Landhótel also has a wonderful relaxation area with a sauna, as well as a soon to be opened hot tub on the South veranda. For those who want an extra bit of luxury, massages are available if booked ahead.

On the retreat we will both flow and wander. We’ll mindfully move the body in our yoga practice and we’ll go for adventurous walks but there will still be time to relax and just enjoy the moment. The goal here is that every retreater can completely recharge and leaves feeling rested, restored and refreshed.

17:30 Yin & Nidra (90 min) – Breathe deep and let yourself sink into deep nourishing yin postures that not only increase our flexibility but also nourish the connective tissue in the body, boost our circulation and calm the nervous system. We’ll finished it off with a deeply restorative yoga nidra, which is a guided meditation and deep rest. Let go, release any stress or tension and allow yourself some stillness.
19:30 Three course dinner


8:45 Morning Yoga Flow (60 min) – Start the day in the best possible way with a soft yet dynamic yoga flow that warms the body, strengthens it and stretches. Expect a creative yet accessible flow that offers modifications and progressions.
10:00 Breakfast
11:30 Hike (approx. 2-3 hrs) – Fresh air time! We’ll head out for a mindful wander in the nearby nature surrounding the hotel. The hike will be nice and calm and suitable for most.
17:30 Workshop about sleep and stress (90 min) – The workshop will start with a soft slow flow to move into the body before we settle down to learn about sleep and good sleep habits as well as stress and how we can release it. We’ll then close the workshop with a guided meditation and deep rest.
20:00 Three course dinner


8:45 Morning Yoga Flow (60 min) – Another fun and creative flow to start the day. We’ll breathe deep and move the body in a mindful way. Expect a little bit of effort before sinking into some nourishing stretches and a deep rest.
10:00 Breakfast and goodbyes

All scheduled items are completely optional. Please also note that the schedule may change.

Yoga is of course for everyone and the yoga classes on the retreat are intended to suit all levels. In addition, the hike will be leisurely and should suit most.

The Yoga Teacher

Sæunn Rut (@sajarut) is a yoga teacher with a master’s in public health and she loves nothing more than combining health, outdoor activities and yoga. She has run multiple yoga and health retreats, both in Iceland and abroad, and she regularly hosts science-informed yoga workshops. She emphasises the importance of a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and she seeks to help people achieve just that.

Sæunn encourages her students to always move mindfully, to listen to the body and observe the state of the mind, to be present. She is passionate about taking the practice of yoga and extending it beyond the mat. She knows that life happens outside of the yoga studio and she wants to help you make the most of that life. She weaves in her background in dance and combines it with a keen knowledge of the human body and psyche to create a practice full of creativity which is aimed to find that elusive balance, on the mat and off it.
